Breast Cancer Awareness
We women have learned how to take control of our power in our families, the business world and now we're learning to own our power and take control of our own personal health. With the Internet so accessible and can be an empowering resource in learning as much as we can about breast cancer. By researching and thoroughly studying all the breast cancer information available we can have a much better understanding of what our options are and will be able to have clearer discussions with our doctors. It is a wonderful feeling of personal power to take our health into our own hands rather than feel like others are calling all the shots for us.
Alternative Therapies

Women have many more choices for their breast cancer treatment today than ever before in history. There are the choices of chemical
treatments, alternative therapies for breast cancer and cancer complimentary therapies. Only a few decades ago when a woman learned she had breast cancer she knew that she would be facing the complete removal of one or both breasts. In addition to that she also had to undergo extensive chemotherapy (and sometimes radiation) treatments. She was given no other choice with the exception of dying. She had no voice in the matter; the doctor knew what was best and she had to follow his word or face death.
It is a bright new day; not like those grim dark days of the past. Yes, women still get breast cancer and must get it out of their bodies but the choices now are more abundant, and even better than that, we get to make the decision about what we want our healing path to look like. The Internet makes it possible for us to do research to understand the disease and the healing process more clearly. It is
also comforting to be able to talk to women around the world who have faced cancer and how they chose to deal with it.
Breast Cancer Healing
There is much information in magazines and on the Internet about the benefits of alternative therapies for breast cancer when used along with the allopathic (medicine, chemical) modality. Cancer complimentary therapies such as meditation, yoga, laughter classes, art and music enable a person to have a happy state of mind. When the brain it is happy the rest of the body will follow; the cells, organs and major systems will all have more ability to heal because of the happy brain. This may sound like some kind of voodoo but it has been proven in clinical studies that when a person is happy the immune system is strengthened which empowers healing in every area of the body. Even killer T cells, which are the cancer fighters, are increased. There is evidence that people living in an unhappy state of mind for long periods have a weaker immune system. This leaves them much more vulnerable to serious disease in their bodies. Some women that are fighting cancer begin to do things that they had only wished to do before the disease. Sondra, a powerful business woman before the cancer interrupted her life, became a sad, depressed woman shortly after beginning the chemotherapy sessions. She had no motivation to do anything; nothing made her feel happy. Her family was greatly concerned for her mental well being. They knew that if she was happy she would have a better chance of winning her battle against the cancer.

Sondra's family sat with her and shared that she needed to find something that would be fun and nurturing to her. They reminded her
that she had always wanted to take painting classes and told her that they would support her in doing that. She signed up at the local community college and began her classes. The results were almost immediate. She started getting up in the morning with a new
happiness and purpose. Alternative/complimentary therapies for breast cancer like this can make a huge difference in a woman's healing path.
After five years being clear of the cancer in her body, Sondra now looks back and says that those art classes saved her life. She says "It was a turning point in my path of healing. I was able to pour all my prayers and emotions into my art. I felt clearer inside. I could almost feel the healing happening." She was fortunate she had a family that was watching out for her well being and supporting her in such a meaningful way.
Breast Cancer Help

A sad testimonial many women share is that they took little time to do the "want to's" in life because they were too busy doing the "have to's". Women have had the role almost since the beginning of time, to take care of others. Their needs are somewhere near the bottom of the list and sometimes never get addressed. Living with cancer they learned that it is as important to do the nurturing, enjoyable things in life as it is to do the work that will always be there.

These women learned that the best breast cancer therapy is one that is the best life therapy too. It is to do what you love to do.
Learn to have a happy mind and heart. Celebrate life everyday with gratitude and passion. These practices can empower us to live a fully rich life no matter how many years we have on this earth.
These are the gifts they received from the alternative therapies for breast cancer that they adopted for life.
In former times women didn't have choices like alternative therapies for breast cancer to heal the cancer that invaded their body. Doctors made all the choices for the patient. In modern times we have the power to say how we want to execute healing.
Breast Cancer Awareness

Alternative therapies for breast cancer may not be for every woman but it is good to have options for our health care. Alternative therapies for breast cancer
are generally used in place of Western allopathic cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiation. If they are used in conjunction with
the drug treatments then it would be called cancer complimentary therapies. Art, meditation, massage, laugh therapy and many others can cause a woman to feel more alive when she is fighting a life threatening disease. Many have said that the alternative therapies for breast cancer
gave them even greater awareness of why its great to be alive.
